CLASS SIZE: UP TO 25 STUDENTS PER CLASS
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Whether you are a professional Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Provider, or Volunteer First AID/CPR Responder, it is essential that you protect yourself from Bloodborne Pathogens. Training topics include:
- Epidemiology of HIV & Hepatitis
- Universal Precautions, Engineering Controls
- Work Practice Controls
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Proper Handling and Disposal of Regulated Waste
- Housekeeping
- Immunization
- A review of your companies Exposure Control Plan.
Course length is approximately 2 hours and is designed to comply with Cal OSHA §5193 and Fed OSHA .1910.130. DiPietro & Associates can also can develop your organizations written Exposure Control Plan (required by law) specifically designed to meet the regulations listed above.

- You cannot tell who may carry bloodborne pathogens just by looking at them.
- Usually no visible symptoms.
- Many people who carry the infection without even knowing it.
- It only takes one exposure to become infected.
- ASSUME ALL PATIENTS ARE INFECTIOUS.
- ALWAYS USE PRECAUTIONS.
